On the last major fight card of 2013 on Showtime, we had Adrien Broner fight against Marcos Maidana. Adrien Broner had been riding the hype train that he could be the next Floyd Mayweather (which was false as we found out later). During the fight Adrien Broner faced adversity when Maidana brought the fight to him and knocked him down for the 1st time in his career.
The result of the fight was Maidana put a beat down on Broner and took his belt. Broner left right away and didn't give a post fight interview until after he was in the locker room for some time.
Now it turns out that Broner wants a rematch against Maidana sending out tweets that said "A y'all bout to see me back in the ring in some weeks..... And I ain't fighting nobody until I fight @ChinoMaidana again ..... I'm a warrior" and "I give props when it's due and @ChinoMaidana out hustled me that night but this rematch will be different!!!!".
To be honest I don't know how the rematch will be different because the main criticism about Broner during the fight is that he isn't throwing enough punches, but Adrien Broner has never been a volume puncher so how could he just change everything in one fight.
Also you could argue that he doesn't deserve a rematch. Adrien Broner had fought in controversial decisions against Daniel Ponce De Leon and Paulie Malignaggi and didn't give them a rematch so why should he get a rematch when he got beat down?
