With New Drug Test, Should Players Be Allowed To Come Back Early

It was announced that the NFL will start drug testing for human growth hormone (HGH) in the 2014 season. The NFL and the NFLPA had agreed to test for HGH along with raising the threshold for marijuana from 15 nanograms per milliliter to 35 nanograms per milliliter.

Along with the new drug test additions, both parties have agreed to give a player a 2 game suspension if they were convicted of driving under the influence.

Another result of the new drug test is players who have been suspended for drugs and amphetamines like Wes Welker, Orlando Scandrick, and Josh Gordon have all gotten their suspensions reduced. Welker and Scandrick are eligible to play this week and Josh Gordon's season long suspension has been reduced to 10 games.

Should players be allowed to get their suspension reduced because the NFL and NFLPA agreed to a new drug policy? This may have been negoatciated by the NFLPA but if it wasn't players should not have gotten their suspensions reduced.

By the letter of the law these players broke the rules and shouldn't be playing. If the police increases the speed limit 15 miles should other people who had a speeding ticket get away with it?

What do you think of this new drug testing policy? should Players have gotten their suspensions reduced?
